RIAS to RIBA 2014

On the morning of 19 September 2014, 11 Architects set off on a 4 day challenge to ride 450 miles from the RIAS, Edinburgh to the RIBA, London in support of the Architects Benevolent Society.

The team were joined for stages of the route by riders from Faulkner Brown Architects, Assael Architects and riders from the RIBA Portland 2 Portland group, including the ABS President – Sunand Prasad. With fresh legs after their final pit-stop at the London 2012 Velodrome, the riders were welcomed to the RIBA by ABS staff, trustees and supporters who were thrilled to greet them with a champagne reception, kindly sponsored by Assael Architecture.

A cheque for £7,871 was gratefully received by the Society at the 2014 GIA Design Awards and Annual Members’ Dinner for monies raised by the RIAS-RIBA riders.
